mouse lags in games

my specs are below. when i play games like halo an bf1942 the mouse lags a little bit when i turn, but when im going straight and when i strafe left and right no lag at all, u think its the mouse>, cuz i bought likte a s---ty 5 dollar mouse, or could it be windows 2000?, alos i overclocked my 5900 and could that have done tha type of damage, please help :), thanks
