Hi, Haing troubles with Microsoft Management Console. Whenever I run it via ADS, Computer Management, DNS etc etc - I get the error "MMC Cannot open the selected file". If I try and run mmc.exe manually - via c:\winnt\system32\mmc.exe - I get a run time erorr - abnormal program termination. So it may seem mmc is completely up the spout? I have tried replacing mmc.exe from an xp machine with the admin pack installed, no joy. I have also tried a repair - via 2k server boot. No avail. There is nothing in the MS knowledgebase !!! Has anyone had this problem? Steve

are you trying to run mmc on an xp box? or a 2k box? or do you mean right on the server? did you check for viruses? are you on latest SP?

This is on my 2K Server. I have tried a virus scan - nothing. I was told there may be a way of downloading MMC from MS - but cannot find anything ?

Greetings, I have windows 2k and get to mmc by: control panel -> administrative tools -> component services Perhaps, this route will work on the local machine?? Jay
