Hi.
I have 2000 prof. on my disk and I thought it would be a good idea to go for a dual-boot installation. So, I inserted the 2000 server cd and started a fresh installation.
For some reason i had to abort the installation and I started a fresh installation again. Now my 2000 server partition works fine, but my 2000 prof. partition has disappeared. Both partitions were formatted with NTFS.

well, it depends what you did during the 2000 server install. Did you format the existing HD or allow win2k server to copy itself into the win2k pro edition winnt folder. If you allowed Server to just copy itself to the Pro WINNT folder then there is nothing you can do. I guess you can bring the HDD to a company that retrieves deleted/formatted info but that would cost you several hundred dollars.

I actually created a new partition and formatted it. Then I installed 2000 server on that partition. In disk manager I can see my old partitions, but thereīs nothing on them.
Just before I installed 2000 server, I upgraded my disk to a dynamic disk. Perhaps thatīs why it got messed up? Can I dual-boot wiht a dynamic disk?
