Missing Network and Dial up Connections

Hi All,
I have Win 2000 and Win 95 on a dual boot machine which is working fine except that all the icons in my Network and Dial-up connections windows are missing in Win 2000. I have checked on the MS Knowledge base and they acknowledge this to be a problem. However, all suggestions from MS do not restore my icons. I have a peer-to-peer network and all network connections work fine. Double-clicking My Network Places shows me my network connections. Also, dial-up connection to the Internet works fine although I do not get the connection icon in the system tray as I used to do. The icons were there at one stage, but I do not know what I did to loose them. Any idea's anyone?

I know that when I first installed my Dial-up networking connection for Internet access, the connected icon (the two computers that flash light blue when data is being transferred) disappeared. I specifically had to enter the properties for my connection and check the box next to "Show icon in taskbar when connected".
Although, if you can't find your DUN folder, I'm not sure how to help you further.
