Messed up dual boot W98/W2k

Hi, i hope someone can help me. I had win98se installed for a while on a C primary partition, then installed Win2k pro on an extended logical partition (D) and configured it to dual-boot. Everything worked fine, when the machine was started, appeared a boot menu giving me the choice between Win98 and 2000, and both Wins started ok. But since i was just testing w2k, i've deleted its folders from D partition hoping that doing fdisk /mbr would clean the w2k boot information and load Win98 directly. That didn't happened: when i try to boot, appears a message telling me that ntsokrnl.exe is missing. I just wanna get rid of w2k but keep w98. I've also run Bootmagic, it identifies the C partition as WinNT/2000. Is there any solution? Many Thanks!

You will need to edit the boot.ini file which is hidden from DOS and delete the Win2K line from the boot loader.

I've fixed the problem. I was in a hurry and forgot to try doing sys c: (it was necesary to clear the Boot record, NOT the MBR) By the way, before this i've tried editing the boot.ini file and deleted that line, but notthing changed, so i deleted boot.ini. Just using the SYS command fixed the problem, my machine now starts Win98 with no dual boot menu. Thanks anyway.

Summary: Dual Booting with W2K is fairly simple and straight forward. In fact, the default status is setup for a dual boot even if W2K is the first operating system installed. Since you already have 98 install...
