Hi there,
I have a w2k notebook. presently it has 32mgb memory card. I want to upgrade it to 64mgb. But after fixing the memory card, on boot up the system cannot automaticlly install/configure it. I even try to install it through the windows driver installation wizard but was not succesfull. the notebook in question is SHARP Mebius, The card maker is HYUNDAI. the serial number is:
HYM71V65M801,
LTX-10S AA,
PC100-322-620

What model number is the notebook? The Sharp site only talks about an Activus model
There are no drivers for a memory module. This is determined by what BIOS sees when you boot through the POST process. If you want to see how much memory you have then stop in BIOS and see that it is available.
If it shows the right amount in BIOS then Windows should use it with no problems.
A jump in memory from 32mb to 64mb is not enough to make the effort worth it. W2k likes to have a minimum of 128mb to work efficiently. Just because M$ says it will work with 64mb that does not mean that you will like it. The term 'snail' comes to mind. Slow to slower in operation. Also do not plan on opening more than one application at a time, this includes trying to run IE and a word processor at the same time. If your laptop can take 256mb I would consider that. but the minimum would be 128mb. I just installed W2K on a system with 128mb and it works fairly well. The only reason that it does not have 256mb is that one of the modules died and I need to replace it.
Good luckRichard
