Comment:

I consitently get the following error from Media Player 9, Error Downloading Codec. It occurs when playing a MJPG (.avi) file. I have reinstalled and deleted Media Player several times, including downloading new codec files. Also happens with Realplayer (which has been uninstalled). I also noticed something else interesting, I tried overwriting the quartz.dll file (which holds the codecs) with a dll file from a machine that plays the .avi. However, everytime I try and overwrite the file, the file always has the same properties. It appears Windows isn't letting me alter the file. I do have administrator priveleges.
Pls Help? (I have run an updated virus scan)

Check the properties of the file. May be read only. Try using jvpowertools16 ver195. Find it here: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html
Also, try winamp 5.03.
