Hi!!
I had the trial version of Mc Afee Virus scan downloaded and installed on W2k.
Now the 30 days is up, and I did get a Mc Afee Virus scan but not from the net.
The trial version is younger then the one I got from the shop.
When I tried to install Mc Afee give me an error (The one I try to install older version then what I have on my system).
So I removed the trial version from the system with the aid of "Add/Remove programs". 3 different Mc program was on the system. I started with the firs then the second. When I get to the third one – Mc Afee Virus scan - "Fatal error during installation" massage come on.Please advise me how can I rectify this...
Thanx

What up dogg- here it is straight,.... mabey a little overkill, but all the info for a manual uninstall is there....

Though the above removal is thorough, it was perhaps intended for cases where McAfee AV uninstaller either is not present at all in the Add/Remove applet, and the AV has produced fairly crippling symptoms on the PC's operation.
Since you have removed two items from the Add/Remove, you may actually have uninstalled enough to proceed with reinstallation. The last stubborn application vestige in Add/Remove may be a 'ghost' fragment where no code actually remains to be removed.
Why don't you scandisk, defragment, and try the McAfee install again before performing the above?
