I recently upgraded to Windows 2000 Professional from Win 98. Now, I need to install Norton Antivirus 2002 but McAfee was installed. So, I unintalled McAfee but there is an Antivirus detected so I cannot do the Install. I have check the registry, check the explorer, and tried some command prompt executables, but nothing worked. I wonder, if out there, someone would give me some suggestions on what to do before I just format and reload the PC. I would like to prevent doing so, but I wanted to see if there was anyone out there that could help me out. Thank you so much!!!

Since you did an upgrade of the OS, chances are that you'll have to wipe out the system and reinstall again. However, you can try reinstalling McAfee Antivirus, rebooting, then Uninstalling McAfee and seeing if that'll work. Otherwise, the upgrading of the OS is gonna force you to paw through the registry or else reformat...
