make shortcut for every pc

There is a file under share drive for everyone to acces and typing. Now we want make a shortcut of this file at desktop, this way make more easy to access this file. Now problem is -- if we make this file shortcut on pc -1, only pc-1 can see this shortcut, rest pc ( many many pc ) can not see this shortcut.
How do we make a shortcut on pc desktop, but every pc can see it at desktop ?

log onto the pc as the local administrator, go to the shared drive and find the icon on the server, once you find the icon, drag it to your desktop and say create shortcup, must do that on each pc you want them to access it tho

Do you have Active Directory and if so are all your clients 2000/xp?
If this is the case create a Group policy to run at user logon to copy the short cut to all users desktop
