I have a M598LMR motherboard with 400 Mhz K6-2 processor and an APACER 64MB PC100 and a generic 32MB PC100 memory... The machine seems OK, but a lot of DLL errors are occuring everytime... btw, I'm using WinMe.
I thought upgrading to WinMe would solved my problems coz this was the same problem I have with Win98. KERNEL32 and other system DLL always fail at certain pretty normal operation, like saving my work in Flash 4 or my design in Frontpage 2000. I've tried installing Win2000, but I only got it to work on initial boot... the suceeding boots were all general protection error.
Plus I got a lot of CRC error reading compressed files... even files that I zipped myself... What could be the problem on my system? HELP!
Does my memory setup alright? (a generic and an APCER combination).

Hey Noel. I personally run off of the same motherboard and I haven't seemed to have any problems of that sort. It is to my knowledge though that errors as such are related to RAM. My suggestion would be to either contact the company who makes your RAM, or contact a local computer shop for their opinion. They might trade you for something that would work for you.

two things. you have the bare minimum ram for ME. upgrade to 128 min. second you have imported you probs from your previos system. Do a clean install of ME ie FORMAT C: and load ME fresh. Never use 8 or 16 bit hardware with ME. CHEERS

Noel, thank you for your posting; I have had the very same problems as you and am at least glad I can see this thing is a lemon and not because of something I did. Good luck with it.
