Hello everyone

I have been trying to install win2k but have a big (small?) problem. W2K says that ""This device cannot start. (Code 10)"". I have done a clean install, I have reinstalled win98se and then tried to install w2k over it but the problem is still there. I have even gone as far as to remove all my pci cards leaving just the video card but to no advantage. What's up here, any ideas?

Make sure that your computer meets all minimum requerements. If it does you can try to wipe the comptuer and totaly start from scratch. To do this start the computer in MSDOS mode. Use this debug script to completly wipe the hard drive and remove all partitions.

Debug
F 200 L1000 0
A CS:100
MOV AX,301
MOV BX,200
MOV CX,1
MOV DX,80
INT 13
INT 20

This should not take long at all. Now try to reset your board. Do this by unpluging it, and then removing the battery from the Board. No remove EVERYTHING that is connected to the motherobard. (Power supply, memory, plug and play devices, IDE cables, etc.) By the time you finish doing all of that (about 5 min), put the battery back in and start to put everything back in. Now you are ready to start from SCRATCH. Note: You may have to partition the drives using FDISK.

Good luck,
