I have been running a wireless network with an Actiontec modem on XP machine and lnksys PCI card in my Win2000 PC. My Win2000 PC shows that the wifi is connected and shows Packets sent but shows 0 Packets received.
I have read several articles on the web and tried a variety of fixes without success. Here's a list of stuff that I've gone through:
1) I recently installed NAV after it notified me that my subscription expired. I replaced it with McAfee. I thought maybe NAV had corrupted Winsock and TCP/IP so I deleted the Registry entries for Winsock and Winsock2 and uninstalled/reinstalled TCP/IP. This didn't help but if I connect to modem with Ethernet card (wired) I can access Internet so I believe Winsock/TCPIP is probably OK??
2) I uninstalled the lnksys software and device drivers, removed the PCI wireless adapter, rebooted and reinstalled the SW and card. Again no luck.
3) I have uninstalled all antivirus/firewall software and repeated 1) and 2) above. Still no connection.
I'm now wondering if something could have gone wrong with my wireless card but it seems like a coincidence that I had uninstalled NAV and prior to that all was well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

check your router (if you have one) and make sure that somehting like MAC filtering isnt on or if it is add the mac of the wireless card

Yep the first thing is to always unplug the modem and wifi router, wait 3 min`s plug in the modem and watch the lights. When all are right plug in the router and reboot the computer.
Now for 1 thing that you said:
" I have uninstalled all antivirus/firewall software "
Be very careful uninstalling any Firewall. Most have a 60% chance of leaving reg entries that will BLOCK any Card!
ZA has a help file so you can delete the reg entries. Always search for uninstall problems BEfore Uninstalling any Firewall.
Have a good Day
BILL
