We are using Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2000 clients. I wrote a logon script (vbs) that is executed every time a user logs on (it's in the Group Policies of the AD).

This works on SOME computers, on some it doesn't and no script is executed at all. The script can however be executed from Windows Explorer and the command prompt by typing the filename.
If the same user logs on to another pc, the script runs, so it is definitely computer-related and not user-related.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Where is the policy being applied? At the domain, or the OU level? It sounds like some of your computers might be out of range for the GPO to apply. Also, check to see if the policy is propogating from parent to child, and that no overide is set.

One more question: If another user logs on to the non-functioning client, does the script still not run?

Hi,
The policy is being applied at OU level. It does't matter who logs onto the machine, the policy wont run, but if that same person logs onto another machine, it's OK.
Thanks for replying

Only thing I have left is to check if the GPO is being applied to that computer. That sounds like the problem. Is the PC in the correct OU? Are there any other GPOs being applied to the OU (or domain) that would overide? Could you apply the policy at the domain level instead, to be sure it propogates down to all OUs?
