Subject: Login error messageOS: Windows 2000 ServerCPU/Ram: XEON 2.4GHz/4Gb |
Comment: Hi There, For a few weeks now I have been getting a peculiar message on an IBM X Series 345 Server. When trying to login remotely or via the console, the error message "The system cannot log you on due to the following error: the network request is not supported" appears. I rebuilt the server and the message is still appearing. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Reply: (edit)If the machine is part of a domain, it could be that your system time is out of sync. I assume you can log on locally?

Reply: (edit)I am having the same issue with a compaq server. After a reboot, it's fine for X amount of time. Then, the same as above. I did notice today that I have a power supply down on the system... running on one right now. Wasn't sure if there could be some ill effect from that???

Reply: (edit)Did anybody find a solution to this problem. We are having the same problem on a Windows 2000 Compaq DL380 box. I do not think it is a hardware issue. Seems more like a Virus issue to me. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Reply: (edit)I also have the same issue on a HP DL380 Windows 2000 server. I reinstall the OS with another CD. It doesn't success. Since the same issue is raised on different types of servers (IBM, Compaq, HP,...) it mightn't be a hardware issue. Waiting for a solution from the heaven....
