Hi There,

For a few weeks now I have been getting a peculiar message on an IBM X Series 345 Server. When trying to login remotely or via the console, the error message "The system cannot log you on due to the following error: the network request is not supported" appears. I rebuilt the server and the message is still appearing. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the machine is part of a domain, it could be that your system time is out of sync.
I assume you can log on locally?

No I can't logon locally either. The only way to overcome the problem is to reset the server.

I am having the same issue with a compaq server. After a reboot, it's fine for X amount of time. Then, the same as above. I did notice today that I have a power supply down on the system... running on one right now. Wasn't sure if there could be some ill effect from that???

Did anybody find a solution to this problem. We are having the same problem on a Windows 2000 Compaq DL380 box. I do not think it is a hardware issue. Seems more like a Virus issue to me.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

I also have the same issue on a HP DL380 Windows 2000 server. I reinstall the OS with another CD. It doesn't success. Since the same issue is raised on different types of servers (IBM, Compaq, HP,...) it mightn't be a hardware issue. Waiting for a solution from the heaven....
