Hi,
My father is having problems with his windows 2000. He had a virus and he thought that the virus had created his guests accounts on his windows 2000 so he then deleted them since doing this when he boots his pc it asks him to log in which he has never had to do before. It comes up username Administrator with no pw. He said he has never put a pw in before and does not know it. Is there a way around this as he rang up the person he bought it from and now has to log in through dial up as I have no experience with windows 2000 I have no idea whats going on.

I recently used this app to reset the password in a Win 2000 machine.
http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpas...
It requires making a boot CD and understanding and following instructions is critical.
Once the machine is booted to the CD just using default answers to get into machine will probably work.
I used Admin for the first PW and once cleared you MUST save the changes for it to work.
You'll see in the instructions where to Save and the command to save is "Exclamation point" (Linux thing I guess?)(!- enter)
Once you get in as Administrator simply wipe out any other user accts.
If data is involved in other accts the passwords can be reset but I wiped them out.
