This pc has a locked version on symatec antivirus software installed. I need to unlock this so that I may install the new live updates

Symantec products are resource hogs. In your case you can't afford any overhead. Try to find a different AV.

MWCC - after downloading the removal software and installing it would not remove my norton. I got a message to manually remove it. After going to add & remove programs the symatec 8.1 is a server/client product and I need the server password. Any idea as to how I can crack that password??

Iam - no I'm not messing with something that I should not be messing with.
MWCC - This PC has disconnected from a network since 2002, I have no idea whom the sever admin may have been.

If that is the case then the only option is to completely re-install Windows.....

If it is no longer part of a company network then it isn't legal for you to use a corporate version of Windows anyway.

If there is a restore partition on it the use that to place the computer back to factory condition.
