locked out of win 2000

I have a laptop with Windows 2000 on it, When i try to log on with the correct password it says that i can't get in and the password is wrong and i know that the password is correct. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked your CAPS Lock key? Is the password perhaps being changed by the FN key on the keyboard?

Is the machine a member of a domain - and you are using a domain username/password to log in locally (check drop down box on logon screen).

Hi this is winxpuser13, none of your ideas worked. Also in windows 2000 all my accounts including Admin. got deleted when this all happened. I do not know what to do next. any help would be grateful.

hi,
if ur laptop is on network, u can change ur local admin password and login using local admin and check ur local accounts.
