I have been locked out of my WIN2k proffessional. My password expired and I can't log on to my system.
Is there a secret default admin password?
Anything I can do besides reinstall?

Consider yourself lucky to be locked out of W2K. Now just reinstall '98 or NT.

Entire point of Windows NT, which 2k is built on, is to be secure... There is no override password... to be completly honest... you are screwed.

Yep, SOL.

As Nelson, from the Simpsons would say, "Ha, Ha".

You might try searching the net for NT password hackers. I know there was a good one that worked with NT 4 SP3 or greater. I don't know if it will work with 2K. Unfortunatly I forgot the name of it.

Try changing the date of your PC.......... and when you log in, change your password, and create another account with a secure password (admin) that you can use to get in, man locking yourself out has got to be the worst error you can do in Win NT / 2K, first rule when you are finish instaling create another account (ADMIN POWERS) that the password don't expire so keep yourself a way to get back in!
