Load Windows from External CDROM

Is it possible to load Windows 2000 from an external CD-ROM? (Connected by USB) The drive is completly wiped.

If you can boot to the device, yes. If you can't boot to it then the answer is No.
You can try using the Windows 98 Startup diskette and boot to that, then assuming you could find a DOS driver for your device, you could do it.

you could boot off of a dos floppy or Win 98 disk, but you cannot install windows 2000 when running in dos mode. You will need to create the four install floppies by running the bootdisk utility on the win2k cd while in dos. Boot off of these floppies and then pray that win2k can find your external cdrom.
Or... try looking at your bios boot options and see if you can boot from that external cdrom. That is the easiest way...
