ok...here is the prob, ...I got it all set up and both computers can access the internet. One computer (Main) is running win 2k pro. , other comp is running win 98se. From the main comp I can access the 2nd comp and access the folders that I have allowed file sharing on. But from the second comp, I can see the main comp, but it keeps asking me for a pw..... I created a pw but it says pw is no good????? I have tried removing the pw and changing the pw...no luck...is there an area with a pw I can't find??? Pulling my hair out......this project is tearing up my liquor supply.
Also I get this message "No permission to access resource"

I've got the same setup. On your win98 machine set your network logon to 'Client for Microsoft Networks'. Assign a username and password on this machine in control panel/settings/users. Add this same user/password to the Win2k box. When you log in to the Win2K machine, log in as your default login, ie Administrator. When you log in to the Win98 box, log in as the user that was just assigned. Do the same thing for each new machine you add to this peer-to-peer network.
