I am running w2k pro on my computer. I added another disk that had w2k pro to make changes to the registry as it wasn't booting. when i removed the disk i was unable to log in and got the "limited virtual memery" error on my computer.
I booted computer using win98 boot disk and ran "fdisk /mbr" and rebooted the computer and was able to log in.
I am posting this as reply to an old thread because the system won't let me add.

I'm guessing that you added another hard drive. Well, if it said you have limited virutal memory, you could of simply just increased the size, instead of installing a new hard drive. If you couldn't even get to the desktop, I would press F8 when it is first booting, and boot in SAFE MODE, and change the virtual memory settings there, then reboot. To even prevent that problem, its much better to get more RAM in your computer, so it's less dependent on virtual memory.
I also suppose that you used FDISK to partition the second drive. If not, you can create it in Windows 2000, by going to Disk Management after right clicking on My Computer and choosing Manage.
Tell me if I didn't answer your question properly
