Getting the error license server is not running on a dc when dealing with licensing on one dc.[just went to per seat] Primary dc says allocated licenses. Same view on secondary dc says unallocated licenses in license manager. Should be the same. I get the error \\domainname.com\sysvol\domainname.com\Policies\{31B2F340-016D D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\Machine\registry.pol with (53). fact of the matter is when I go to that location on the primary dc that file does NOT exist. I have already gone down all the paths suggested in Knowledge base. Time is correct on both servers file replication appears to be working according to event viewer - set to 1hr as test primary dc shows licenses being authorized secondary dc shows licenses used but unauthorized license logging service is started despite the error in License manager to the contrary on the 2ndary dc So any clues as to why the specified registry.pol file is missing on the primary dc? Or how to correct?

this happened to my Domain Controller last year, the blaster worm did funny things with the licencing manager, and it kept on denying users access to log on, is the server service running in system serviceS? Check through and see if any of them have stopped and if so whats are the names of them? start > run > services.msc Hope this helps
