I have a PS/2 keyboard that works fine in the BIOS etc.
When I try to load Windows 2k Pro I see the setup loads a keyboard driver etc.
After that my keyboard stops working and I can't proceed and hit enter to continue the install.
I tried my dad's USB keyboard and that actually works, but if I go through w/ the install using that I'm stuck w/ that configured in W2k.
I want to use my PS/2 keyboard!

KBs are "universal" in that - unlike most devices - they do not require drivers: the industry is standardized on them. You will not be "stuck" with your father's KB because you used it during install.
Use your dad's to complete the install, then switch back to yours - if you can. It would be unusual, but it may be that your KB is incompatible with w2k & you need to get another. I don't know where you are but here in USA they are cheap, cheap, cheap (clunkers for 8$)

Well the problem is I complete the install w/ the USB keyboard, but afterwards I try to add a new device through device mgr and that doesn't detect anything.
There is no entry for keyboard under device mgr as well.

BTW, how can I add the PS/2 keyboard back in through win2k...at that point only my mouse works...
Also, I've try 3 other PS/2 keyboards and it still is no go when I try to use it in Windows (PS/2 keyboard) hitting any key it just freezes windows...makes sense b/c its not under device mgr but I can't get device mgr to see the PS/2 keyboard either

Does your KB work if you boot to DOS? If not, then it sounds like your KB jack is busted. It's not uncommon as the female is simply soldered to the motherboard and the repeated push/pull of use eventually causes the conductive pathways to seperate.
You can buy an ISA or PCI slot card that sports a PS/2 socket and disable the on-board PS/2 in your BIOS setup.
USB KB would be shown in Device Manager under "Universal Serial Bus Controller" - but probably listed as a "generic USB" device like most other USB devices which makes identification difficult. The PS/2 KB doesn't show because Windows cannot detect it at startup - which is why I think it's a busted jack.
In your first post you wrote "After that my keyboard stops working" which suggest that it works in DOS - but I'm still guessing it doesn't.
Let me know what comes of it.
