I also loaded this patch(KB824146) on almost 50 windows 2000 clients and 2 PCs out of those are taking very long to reach the server while starting up.But if I do not plug the network cable, then it runs normal. I have also tried after removing this hotfix patch which does not help.It is still slow.I also tried to reinstall user's profile but it did not help. Can someone please help?

Accepted Answer from delgadoj Date: 06/23/2003 07:51PM PDT What DNS server is listed in the TCP/IP properties of the clients? Make sure the primary DNS server listed is 192.168.0.4(put yours) with no secondary.
If none of the above work then do the following:
Open the DNS console and delete the zone for your domain. Create a new zone with the same name as the old one. Make sure you choose "Active Directory Integrated Zone" as the type and set it to allow dynamic updates. Then run ipconfig /registerdns on the DC and the clients. Comment from ldieno Date: 06/23/2003 07:59PM PDT thanks you got it! I recreated the zone... (This wasn't the first time Ive done this though...)
