How should I set up my hard drive, dvd drive and cd burner drive jumpers?
HD as Master DVD and Rewriteable as cable select or dvd and rewriteable as second master and second slave.

your hard drive performs as fast as the slowest device on the chain. i have my hard drive as the only device on my ide1, with the cd and cd-rw on ide2. the only drawback is you can't copy cd to cd on the same chain...at least mine won't

I don't think Eric is right. I have my first HD on prim IDE master, cd-rom drive as primary slave. Second HD on sec master, burner on sec slave. My cd-rom drive is slow (not working properly) but my HD is lightning fast (as is my system). I have never had a problem (or heard of it) that you couldn't copy cd to cd on the same chain. It shouldn't be a problem, but I think my config woul be better. BTW Never use cable select, always use Master or Slave.
