I've seen posts about users not being able to open jpeg attachments from Outlook. One solution is to make the users Power Users on the workstations. What's the easiest way to make all users Power Users without going to every workstation on the network? Is there another solution?

Are they loggin into a domain? There may be a way to do this with a script. Are you sure you want to make all the users on the network power users?

No, I'm not sure I want to make all users Power Users. I do, however, need to allow users to open jpeg and other attachments. If there is a better way, I'm open for suggestions.

You want them to be POWERUSERS locally !!
Then they can run the file
They can still be normal users on the domain.

That's what I already knew. My question was how to do that without going to every workstation on the network.

Hi,
There is a way to make those users powerfull without phisycally going to workstations ,but you will need to connect to every one of them anyway .
1. If they are w2k connected to domain and you are system administrator for this domain ,you might open mmc and add there Computer management snap-in for each workstation .
Then one by one you'll need to open each's management console and add each person's user from domain to his computer's local Power users group .
2. If they are NT4 you can use usrmgr utility, connecting workstations one by one and doing the same .
Good luck .

If you're running Outlook with the Security patch, then making the users Power Users won't help them view the files, and it's a bad idea to elevate the privileges in the first place.

Can they view a jpg file just by clicking on one? If not, you may just need to edit one key in the Registry to allow them to view those graphic files.
