Hello:

I am having serious problem when running Windows Media Player 9 on a W2K box.
The problem is a series of jerky sounds that lasts throughout the CNN video clip. I have never, ever experienced such jerky sound playback before.
The board has NO add-on slot for video, only the built-in type.

I downloaded the DivX Player to see if the problem would go away, instead of launching, it immediately rebooted the system again and again.

Moreover, I decided to go to www.reuters.com/videos Website. While there, I clicked the video button and the videos played exceedingly well. On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate the performance as a 10.
Of course I am a CNN watcher and would like to continue viewing their videos but will have to find the problem as it exists.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion you may have in solving this problem.

Regards

You probably haven't gotten any responses yet because you haven't provided enough information.

Is this a new Win2000 installation? What service pack are you running? What version of IE?

"The board has NO add-on slot for video, only the built-in type"

So you're saying your board has no slots of any kind? No PCI, no AGP, no PCI-e? I find that hard to believe. And there must be a typo in your model number "ECS 879CG v3.0A" because google comes up blank. So does "IBM TRUECAT". Since you have PC2700, you either have a S754 or S939 system but that's as far as my psychic abilities can take me.

Which version of Flash Player do you have?
