Comment: I recently bought an iPod and when I installed the software iTunes was installed. I have used it once before and hated it so I quickly uninstalled it and decided to use the Winamp plugin. Anyway when I uninstalled it and rebooted my CD/DVD are also uninstalled and the computer doesn't recognise them. When I install iTunes they show up fine. Wierd problem, I know. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Reply: (edit)This MAY be due to a problem with ASPI layer files. Read the link below and follow the links in that article to find possible solutions. http://aspi.radified.com/

Reply: (edit)I tried these programs and uninstalled iTunes and the same thing keeps happening. I followed the instructions and my computer still doesn't detect my CD or DVD drive.
