Issues adding computers to AD

I am setting up a small AD integrated domain from scratch. The GC domain controller along with a gaggle of other servers is on one subnet, let's say 10.10.201.x. While client machines are on another subnet, say 10.10.200.x. Both are using the same subnet mask. These two subnets are on different VLANs on a Cisco 6509 switch. All the VLANs on the switch are routed to each other from the Supervisor/routing module. There are not actually "routers" between the subnets. The routes are good, everything can ping everything else. Everything on the server subnet was able to join the domain with no problem. I have the DNS entry on the clients set to the IP of the domain controller. And I can ping the FQDN of the domain controller. This being all said, I cannot get the clients to join the domain. They keep telling me the domain cannot be located or does exist. What am I doing wrong? I'm sure it's something stupid, but I am somewhat new at this and some insight would be helpful!

You need to be able to PING both the IP address AND the hostname. I'm assuming you're talking about one subnet being able to join the domain, and the other can't. Basically one subnet cannot see the other subnet. Fix that, and then you can join the domain....
