hi,
my windows 2000 operating system automatically stoped opening up applications such as word,excel & internet explorer,everytime i click on an icon windows would prompt me "eg. explorer is not a valid win32 application",What should i do? i know there is a command that you type in the "Run box" that would scan for errors or something, it owuld be a help if you guys can help me out on this one.

This error pops up when you are trying to load a corrupt executable or a non-executable renamed as a .exe file. If all of sudden you can´t load the programs you mentioned, then I bet you´ve catched a computer virus. Get an antivirus (F-Prot is an excellent and free option) and scan your computer booting with a clean diskette.
