Do I need Drwatson on my computer? Is it essential and will I create a problem if I completely remove it? I have Norton system check and repair and a registry check and repair program. Even if I could understand the Drwatson error codes I wouldn't know what to do about them. Is this baggage necessary? I have never tried to access Drwatson information.

Thanks,

Ron

It is used in conjunction with the error reporting system that is able to send to microsoft. Microsoft then researches the issue and determines if they need a patch for it, I guess if they get enough of the same errors, from people all around the globe then they come out with a patch, or make a patch.

It does more than report to MS, you can set it to monitor your machine when you are in trouble and get useful info.

I'm not sure why it's presence is bothering, it's only a few KB. Doesn't seem worth rocking the boat to me.

I dont think it is 'required' to function but, at the same time it isnt really using alot of space or resources so there isnt much of an advantage to removing it.

It doesn't use any resources unless it is switched on.
