Just a thought to all you out there having trouble with irq's and the like, i have had loads of trouble with 2K and my setup so here's a bit of help for you all.
go into device manager and open up the 'Computer' TAB, dbl click what's in there, it might be 'standard pc' or ACPI computer' or whatever. select IRQ Steering and DISABLE 'Get IRQ table from real mode PCIBIOS 2.1 call'
that has helped me and a load of my friends get over the conflicts we all had.
hope it helps some else aswell.

I would disagree with everything you said.
I make sure IRQ steering is ENABLED so that Windows can select the correct IRQ's and resources to use.

Also if your having irq conflicts......take out or disable everything but your video card and boot your machine. Then put each card and boot for each card. For the most part Windows 2000 is pretty good at configuring hardware.........though people have had some problems......Ive had only minor ones......so far.

Yeah, but sometimes it just doesn't work. I had the same problem when using a cheap pc chips mainboard. It wouldn't work unless IRQ steering was disabled. Now with my ASUS mainboard everything works great again.

As a rule, leave IRQ steering enabled. However, there will be cases with certain machines and hardware where you will need to manage the resources yourself. That is when its good to know to disable IRQ steering.

if you read it properly i actually said
select IRQ Steering and DISABLE 'Get IRQ table from real mode PCIBIOS 2.1 call'
NOT disable irq steering.
