Afternoon, folks.

I'm running dual Celeron 433s on a Abit BP6 mainboard and Windows 2000 Professional. I'm trying to install a Symphony PCI wireless NIC. But...when I install it, it's choosing outrageous IRQs. The first one was 36, and after I switched PCI slots it's now on 60.

The Symphony tech support people said I had to fool with my IRQ settings in the mainboard BIOS, but I really don't know what I'm doing there. Any suggestions? They really would be appreciated.

Start your unit and while the first or second Dos screen is checking your memory hit the DEL button to enter setup. Now just look around until you find where the IRQ setting are listed. Probably not all IRQs are going to be listed, but just play around with them a few times. Your not going to ruin anything, and it's always reversable.

While your in there open the Plug&Play setup page and make sure Plug & Play OS is turned on. Sometimes if it's not turned on the IRQs get assigned screwy.

PCI pallett snoop = OFF if you have an AGP graphics card and/or onboard video
Assign IRQ for whatever = ON
Plug & Play OS = YES

Save to CMOS and quit = YES
give it a try.
