Comment: ok im new in win 2000 pro i used 98 win and i no in win 98 your irq,s are 0 to 15 right? well my aha scsi 2940u2w card reads in its on bios id 7 and bios irq is /11 ok well i go to the hardware device manager and it reads irq/16 now it doesnt say there is any conflicts but when i look at what it shares with it has this pm845g/video card is /irq/16 2940u2w/irq16 i did have another irq 16 to but i got read of it in the mother board bios it was a usb controler i dont think i need that do i right now? im not using the usb am i ? well i thought the best performance i would get is to have everthing or at lest my scsi card on its on irq? and what is funny is my bios in the 2940u2w says irq/11 and id 7 what is this i mean win 2000 pro has irq,s that go to 24 or 25 i nee d to no im losing it can anyone help me with this please moe ilove this net board

Reply: (edit)do you have performance issues? If not, don't knock yourself out. Windows 2000 is different when it comes to PCI steering. Let 2000 do it's thing. And take a breath.

Reply: (edit)ok that sounds good i got one more ? i got the2940u2w adapter right its bios number is2,01,0 something well i looked at the flash bios updates at aadaptec web site andit looks like mine is from 1998 bios they have updates to 2001 it says like bios 2.57 something its updated more than mine do you think i should update mine since i am running win 2000? and i did a disk benching on my drive it dont look to good im running lvd/10.000 scsi drive on its own with nothing else on the adapter its termanated with a 80/meg termanter and im geting mabe 30/megs a sec now is that good or should it be higher ? 80/megs a sec i got write cach enabled the reason for / is i write my on music and i need good speed and throuput and i am a little afraid to flash my adapter because i heard if it doesnt work right there goes my adapter you no thanx for takin the time for my ? see ya on the net moe ps im running sca 2 lvd hard disk /80 meg/ asec /with lvd adapter 2940u2w
