I currently have a local W2K domain (site A). The main server runs AD, DNS, WINS and DHCP to service the W2K Pro workstations
The IP details of this machine are 11.95.32.1 subnet mask 255.255.0.0
I have recently installed two CISCO routers over a kilostream link to a seperate building. I have placed a W2K Pro machine at Site B with a fixed IP address of 11.96.32.100, subnet 255.255.0.0
I can ping this machine from any machine at Site A and vice-versa. I am happy that the routers work fine.
When I try to add the new machine to the domain at site A it can not find the PDC (I have put 11.95.32.1 in the machines preferred DNS Server field and the local router in the gateway field)
How do I config the domain (probably DNS) to accept machines with an IP range of 11.95.xx.xx and 11.96.xx.xx

type "route print" in the command screen.
on one of the other w2k machines that can see the domain controller, preferably in the same location, and look for the server IP address and trace the steps back, you will notice the router probably interupts it, i think the problem is the router isnt forwarding the ip ranges on so the pc at site a is maybe pickign up a new ip range from the router?
this could be your answer, if not make sure you have applied an ip before you try to join it up, or at least ensure dhcp is checked. then try to ping another machine at site a and see if you can see any, if there are any. its definatly a router problem me thinks

can you ping the server? do you get a browse list in network neighborhood?
I would suspect that it is not the routers but your DNS configuration. Now it could be specific ports in the routers are blocked so you may want to check that.
