Dear anyone that can help, I have recently been experiencing problems with my internet connection. The connection itself appears to be fine but when I try to use internet explorer it simply flashes briefly on the screen and then disappears with no error messages. I cannot use any other program associated with the internet either but it is not a problem with the connection so im worried that it may be viral. I recently detected a trojan horse that attacked the file dialer.12.bf and i was wondering if this could be related. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

You may not have cleaned all the spyware out. You have not mentioned what anti-spyware program you used. Download CWShredder from http://209.133.47.200/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe, Spybot from http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?lang=en&page=download and Adaware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/. Run them while offline and in SAFE boot mode. Delete the red entries that Spybot displays. You might also want to download and run an anti-virus program called stinger from http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ When finished, reboot and see if the problem persists. If it doesn't then download SpywareBlaster from http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html, install it to prevent further problems. If the problem does persist then please repost so that we can proceed to another step of repairing IE.

Thanks very much for the help Tonto. I was using AGV virus detecter but i dont think that it picked up on spyware. I had no idea it could be so damaging! Anyway the prolem seems to be solved now so thanks a lot.
