Hello, I am trying to re-install my HP all-in-one printer wich failed due to an error that I found the fix to on their site ,but when I tried to install the .net framework download from MS I get this error

ERROR 1303 insufficient privileges to access C:\program files\internet explorer\mui

I am logged on as admin. I have checked that I have full access to
C:\program files\internet explorer
but cannot find the mui part .I beleive this to be a WIn2000 problem due to the privileges bit ,but in-case it matters (IE ver.6) Please any help would be greatly appreciated .
Jack

I have had HORRIBLE experience with these HP all-in-ones. There is a specific order to uninstalling certain software and then reinstalling in a specific order to get these pos's to work.

The steps vary on which AIO you have.

Contact HP Support through their chat option, and request specific instructions on how to get this to work. They sent them to me when I requested them.

Will try that ,but in my experience one company will tell you to contact the other to resolve issues with their stuff, & with the costs I saw for calling microsoft I'd rather not go down that road. Was also thinking about dumping IE again then reinstalling to see if that would get me past the privileges problem ,so I could install the .NET framework . Please , if anyone can help , it would be greatly appreciated .

I figured out the problem .for anyone with the same problem this was what I did ,opened my computer ,opened C drive , right clicked program files , clicked properties ,clicked security tab , clicked advanced button ,checked box for "reset permissions on all child objects and enabled propagation of inheritable permissions." this allowed me to first install the .NET framework (which added the missing MUI folder)& then my printer software . hope this helps someone else .
