In windows 2000 when i right click a picture and click "set as wallpaper" i don't know where it saves this to. when i go to the display properties it's just listed as Internet Explorer Wallpaper and if i search for that - it is never found. I've searched for all jpg's, bmp's, and gif's on the drive and none are named anything with the words "internet" or "explorer". where is this located? i'd like to change my wallpaper but want to save my current picture first so my new wallpaper isn't just saved over the top of it. thank you!

All wallpaper files are stored in your Windows directory. ie C:\winnt. The exception is Internet Explorer Wallpaper which is stored in c:\documents and settings\"user name"\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer. In the future, when you want some new wallpaper, right click the pic and choose save as. Save as a .bmp and store in your Windows directory. Then it will show up as one of your choices in Backgrounds. Hope this helps you out. PS. This is for Win2K Pro.
