hi!
I'd like to use both systems - Win98 and W2K.
Currently I'm using W2K with FAT32, so I need to install Win98.
Is it possible? I'm not sure about comaptibility... Win98 is older and I've heard that it may erase some W2K boot information.
Is it true?

It can be done. Try the following sites:

You 'can ' put '98 into the same partition as W2K, but it's preferable/better to have each OS in its own space. So can you create an Extended partition/logical-drive for '98? If so then you install '98 as normal (floppy-disk boot etc.) and point it to 'its own space'.

Since '98 'will' replace the W2K boot-loader etc. with its own version of things, you 'will' need to run W2K Repair sequence to restore it, and establish the dual-boot. Until you do the repair you will only be able to boot to '98.

Before you start installing '98 make a fresh/current ERD for W2K; you can the offer it up during W2K repair; although a repair can be effected even without an ERD.

Both W2K and '98 boot/start-up files will be in the C: system (active Primary) partition which in your case also holds the W2K OS itself. If you reformat this partiton you wil lose access to '98 as well as (the deleted) W2K...

Run W2K set-up\repair via CD boot or the 4 floppies apprach, not from within '98.

A couple of guides on W2K repair:

I have the same issue, with W2k installed w NTFS, and prepared a FAT32 4 GIG partition for W982e. When beginning to run the W982e setup, I get a screen which says that proceeding will remove/destroy all contents of my drive. Out of fear, I have stopped at this point.
Somewhere in setup there is supposed to be a 'select directory' screen which will allow a choice to specify the appropriate drive letter for installation of the OS.
What will happen if I proceed - can anyone with experience walk me through this critical step?
