Hi everyone, Excuse my ignorance, but being new to computers, would a Celeron 500mhz with a 10.2GB ATA66 HDD, and 128MB of SDRAM, be a suitable platform to install and run Win2K Regards John
Yes, i used to have a AMD K6-2 450 Mhz with 128 MB and it worked fine with w2k. Now i have a Dual Celeron 466 with 128 MB on the Abit BP6 Mainboard and this kicks ass! W2K is very good if you have an SMP system. I made it a dual boot system between win98se en w2k so i could play the games under win98se and use w2k for all other tasks. I couldn't use my 13.0 GB ATA66 HDD because w2k hasn't got support for my ATA66 till now? I recommend you make 2 partitions on your hd and then use Norton Ghost to make an image from your first partition and save it to the 2nd partition. If something fails or you want to remove w2k just restore the image.
Have fun!
