Reply: (edit)Few things to check: 1. It is recommended by microsoft to clean up your disk before you attempt a upgrade, scan disk, defrag, empty trash, basic spring cleaning for the computer. 2. Make sure no virus scanning software is running during the upgrade, this includes the BIOS virus checker. 3. It could also be a problem with the media, in otherwords, your cd may have a flaw in it, is it a copy, or did you buy it? 4. What i would suggest, is that if it is a "Clean Install" which means you are not doing a upgrade, boot the computer with a 98 boot disk, use Fdisk to make a partition of about 4gb(leaves pleanty of room for service packs and updates). reboot after you make the partition and activate it, then use the winnt on the command line in the directory of the cd, in other words if your cd drive is drive e: you should get there by the following steps: from a: A:/ D: D:/ dir (make sure the I386 file is there in the list) D:/ cd I386 D:/I386> winnt confirm the path on the next screen, and hit enter, then your install should start. I could get into more detail but this will be a very long post. if you need help of have questions, send me a e-mail : robkraus@cox.net
