I use to install WIN98 by copying the CD to my harddrive and then seting up WIN98 within my hard drive. However, I am using WIN2k now. How do I copy the CD to hy hard drive and set up within?

Thanks

Win98 starts up using the Win98 version of DOS. That's why you can transfer the Win98 files to a hard drive and then boot using a Win98 boot diskette and run the setup. Win2000 has no DOS mode. It either has to be booted using a bootable Win2000 CD-Rom or use several Win2000 boot diskettes.

One disadvantage for converting hard drives to NTFS is this. If Win2000 fails and won't boot, you can't do much except start from scratch. At least if you use Win2000 with FAT32 partitions, you can still boot using a Win98 disk and try to salvage things.

Same type of process Jake, just use the i386 folder from the W2k install CD.
