installing oracle 9i on win2k

hi
i have win2k and xp on my laptop on 2 partitions...i need to install oracle 9i on the win2k partition as i heard xp home edition doesnt support oracle ..but am facing probems...when i put in the oracle cd in the setup does not execute..!! when i click on install nothing happens..i tried browsing thru the cd and running the setup.exe file...and also running it thru dos prompt..both failed...
if anyone knows why the system is not recognizing the cd and if theres a way to get round it please let me know..

maybe have a "virtual" server on ur pc and on it install oracle and then use a client/server protocol..?
