I just downloaded an update for my video card and I have to run it in DOS. Once I get to that point I am supposed to be able to install everthing needed. My problem is after I get to the command prompt i get the C:\>. After that I cant figure out how to run the .exe file. all it says in the readme file is "Boot to native DOS, and run the BIOS upgrade program GU25211G.exe.

1.boot off a win98 boot disk, do shift f5 at the menu. 2.run the awd?? (I forget the name of the flash utility, check your motherboard's manufacturer's website, they will have the flash utility you need). 3.The dos syntax will be something like:
awd.exe(the flash utility) g30000.bin(the name of the actual flash)(these are just examples).
Hope that helps

by the way, i just caught that it is a video bios upgrade you need. I take it there is a video bios flash utility provided by the manufacturer?? They will have exact instructions on what you need to do. But of course you have to be at a working comp right?

lets take this a step further. i'm kind of manic so forgive me for all the posts. run this .exe file in dos, it might extract files. just make sure you cut the .exe file into a directory where it can expand ok. then jump back into windows and run the setup.
