Hey, I have a problem that I'm not even sure where to begin troubleshooting. I had the "I Love You" bug on my computer, so I erased all the partitions and repartitioned my computer. I put Win2K back on. I now have 2 partitions for Win2K. I installed trillian and it worked fine, but for some reason when I select a box such as "don't show this message again" with trillian, it still shows it every time, and I have to re-enter all of my information everytime I run the program also. (For those of you not familiar with trillian, it is a program that allows you to use many different chat program with one program... for example, I use it to chat with AIM and ICQ in one program, trillian.)
Also, I downloaded imesh, but when I try to install it, it says it is initializing the installation process, but the that screen goes off and the setup screen never comes up. I don't understand this. I also downloaded Limewire, and I ran the setup program for this successfully, but when I try to run it, the computer trys to run it and the little hourglass thing comes up on the mouse pointer, but the program will not run.
If anyone has any ideas on either of these problems, or if they are connected in some way, that would be great? Do you think I'm missing some library for some reason. Is there a chance my virus is still affecting me in some way? I reformatted the partitions I'm now using, and I'm also using a new version of norton antivirus, so I don't think that's the problem. But any ideas or suggestions are GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

Try a process of elimination.
Uninstall them all and clean the Registry.Load one of them and try it. If OK load the next. Stop at the first sign of trouble,
uninstall the last one you loaded, clean the registry, install a different one, etc. Make notes as you go.In theory you should be able to identify any conflicts. Also, try the Microsoft knowledge base - there may be something there.
Hope it works out.
W

I seems like the computer does not kinow where to save the stuff, things like setting and so, maybe it is possible that you haven't a profile (user profile) or the documents and settings folder isn't on teh same partition as your win2k installation, if so you have to change the path for it in the registry. The thing with the path could be possible, you just log in with an user name and use it thry to install and later you can select teh option "always logon as". Or something like that.
