install Windows without CD-ROM

I am tring to install Windows 2000 on my ThinkPad 360X P3 laptop which do not have an operating system installed and do not have a CD-ROM. Is there any guru tell me how to do it? Thinks.

You need to remove the HDD from the laptop, purchase an IDE adapter for the HDD and connect it to a desktop P.C. that has a CDROM and then install the O.S. onto the HDD. Remove it from the desktop P.C. and reinstall it into the Laptop.

Don't think that will work - quite...

W2K and XP are not as forgiving as NT4 in terms of installing the OS via one PC and moving drive to another...

Perhaps at least use the adapter etc approach to copy the i386 to the drive; then restore it to the laptop and run setup from the hard-drive?
