ok i have an ibm thinkpad 760xl no cd rom so i was wondering could i copy the windows 2000 pro cd over to the laptops harddrive using laplink or filemaven and install from there but i need a dos prompt to use laplink or file maven so basically i want to copy the cd to the hd like windows 98 cabs and i hear 2000 pro can run on 32 mb of ram on a laptop and is there a way to remote install straight from teh cd-rom without all the cd copying etc

yes you can copy the i386 folder to the drive and to start install you run "winnt".
Be prepared with any 2000 drivers you need for your laptop on floppy diskette.
32 megs is bare minimum and 2000 won't run very well.

If you don't have LapLink, you can use intersvr & interlnk from DOS 6.22.
