I have a laptop 2000 XP with built in wifi. Magic Jack phone is better with Ethernet plug in.
How do I get laptop to recognize Ethernet when wifi is turned off?

So which do you have, 2000 or XP? Although simillar, they are two different operating systems.

If WIFI is turned off, then you will need to use a cable connected to the RJ-45 jack on your laptop and plug the other end into your router or modem..
