Hi Win2000 Pros,
I am not sure if this is a network problem or OS problem. Please excuse me if I have posted in the wrong area.

I have Win2000 Pro OS, with SP2 installed and partitioned with Fat32 on two computers. I use a surfboard cable modem and a LinkSys USB Router to connect the computers. I have two usernames with Administration Rights on both computers.

On Computer#1 I have been setting up two removable drives to be used (stand alone) one at a time. I am attempting to copy backup data files from Computer#2 to Comp#1. Computer#1 is my work horse and I need another drive ready to pop in when disaster strikes. I can access both systems with the username and password, but when I attempt to copy files from computer#2 to computer#1, through Windows Explorer, I get this "Enter Network Password" dialog box and it states: Incorrect password or unknown username for ck-XXXXXXX-a(My computer name). I have tried both usernames that have Admin rights with no success.

Can someone shed some light on why this is happening? Thanks much...L. Sanders Sr.

Ok, all the stuff about the drives and such is extra info. If I understand everything right, you've got both machines on the network and can see each other. So try creating on both machine the exact same username and password. Then log onto one as that user and try accessing the other. And make sure you add this user to the shared folder permissions with the needed rights (set the user for Full Control to be safe)....
